Dave "DK" Kodama

Local boy D.K. Kodama opened the first Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar in Kapalua, Maui, more than two decades ago, turning his passion for food and hospitality into one of Hawai‘i’s most beloved dining experiences. What began as a single sushi bar has grown into multiple award-winning restaurants across the islands, earning national recognition from Wine Spectator, Zagat, and Bon Appétit. Known for his humor, creativity, and dedication to fresh, local flavors, D.K. continues to lead with the same spirit of aloha that inspired Sansei from the very beginning.
